The whole 2 hours will be an all-levels workshop. The price is $10, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
This will be the final workshop before a few weeks break, since Derek will be out of town June 19th through July 5th.
Once again Bolinas is having its counterculture July 4th parade through town and to the beach, even though Michelle, who usually organizes, won't be there.
Bruce Silverman will lead the Sons and Daughters of Orpheus (his drumming group), along with Lucha's long-time collaborator Maisa Duke and a bunch of her dancers as well as local Bolinas dancers and possibly some local drummers. Bruce is inviting all Luchistas to come drum with him for the event.
They'll do their versions of three rhythms: Samba, Samba Reggae, and Banda. They'll meet for a quick rehearsal just before the parade, at 9:30 am, at the end of Wharf Road, almost to the beach, by his turquoise Toyota minivan --- you can learn parts there and then. Then the parade usually starts at 11 and only takes about an hour, since the route about 0.6 miles:
