Jorge Alabe 's Grupo Samba Rio samba group will be one of the bands at this year's SF Carnaval King and Queen competition. Maisa and some of her dancers will be performing, as well. I've never been to this gig, but apparently it's quite fun. Us Luchistas who have been regulars with Jorge's Sunday night rehearsals are all invited to play. Of course, everyone else is welcome to come to watch. If you signup here and come a little early, I can get you in for free as part of the band, whether or not Jorge ends up letting you play on the gig (just be flexible about that if you're not already a regular -- you probably won't get to play much, but you could still come and enjoy the show).

Technically, the venue is a place called Fanatics Sports Entertainment Complex, at 601 Cesar Chavez near Pier 80. We will be performing in a large tent attached to the main room of the place...
